Vedas state “So’ham” means I am Him. The conditioning of our soul makes us forget our real Self. The Divine is in us and in all living entities. The God who is omnipresent is the one who has given us instinct, intellect, intelligence and intuition. Only if we take a moment to step back and make a serious attempt to read the signs all around us, we will be free of all confusions, worries, fears and exhaustion.

One fine day while doing some research on the web I came across an international website. The site talked about a card deck called the Bhagavad Gita deck. It was love at the first sight. I was unsure if I could buy those cards in India. Days passed until one day I came across a rather spiritual person who happened to be a Krishna devotee. After a few customary exchanges of words, he spontaneously and graciously stated, “You are capable of taking this medium of divination to a different level.” The words coming out of his mouth felt like a message coming from the Divine himself. He forced me to think big and beyond the usual way of predictions. He said that if I believed in my instincts/intuitions and keep Krishna in my heart, I would witness the signs in the near future. After all with a guiding light in the form of divine legacy, he suggested it would further fine-tune my foretelling.

Fast forward to a few months. One day, I woke up with this nagging feeling that I must go to a book shop. It was almost like a calling. Once there, when casually browsing the book shelves, my hand was pulled towards a nice box with an attractive picture of Lord Krishna. I pulled out the box and, lo and behold! -- to my utter surprise - it was the same Gita deck I had seen on the internet. I was mesmerized. As I held that deck in my hand, I had goose bumps and felt a sensation rising up from my spinal cord right through to my brain and ending there. I brought the deck home. I simply put the BG deck by my bedside for a number of days. I started having visions of the cards in my dreams. I was somehow certain that the destiny would arrange for another meeting with this person.

And it surely did happen – another meeting. I narrated the whole episode to him and requested him to guide me further so I could decipher the meaning of those dreams. He said, “nothing is a coincidence.” Very kindly he accepted my request. The saintly and devout Krishna devotee introduced me to the ancient art of using Bhagavad Gita verses for the purposes of accurate predictions. He expounded the esoteric meaning of Bhagavad Gita to prove that all questions and answers to such questions that can ever arise in the human mind exist in this holy book. He believed that Bhagavat Gita cards could bring a unique way of guiding people. We started working on it as he explained the meaning of each and every card. Clouds of confusion dissipated in a matter of hours and I felt the camouflage had come off the cards. It all made perfect sense.

My journey of finding and unraveling the mystery behind the Bhagavad Gita was comparable to Arjuna’s position as he sought answers to the meaning of life and of right and wrong by approaching Lord Krishna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. I felt determined and inspired to use my new found knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita Deck for the benefit of other human beings.

He carefully trained me in the science of using the BG deck and instructed me to freely share this knowledge with all others because of his own mission to alleviate the human suffering in today's world. I emerged a new and different Hemma. I felt unmatched responsibility towards the Bhagavad Gita deck and spent days meditating on each. With deep faith in each letter written in the Bhagavad Gita I thank the Lord for showing me the light on this path.
With each passing day even as I continue to better understand the BG deck, I have accepted that one could easily spend an entire lifetime studying it and yet still not fully fathom its divine messages.
My heart swells up with joy, gratitude and reverence to Lord Krishna for choosing me to get a glimpse of the enormous treasure of knowledge the Bhagavad Gita holds and for allowing me to share the fruits of this knowledge with you.

Hare Krishna.
